I would love some rhubarb for the children's garden at our little museum. I have a lot of blue flags (Va. iris), yellow lamium, pink stonecrop, yellow stonecrop, obedient plant, and perennial geranium "Rozanne."
Here is a picture of them the first day. They planted seeds and a few herbs. They had a great time and so did we but it was exhausting. Because of their age, we had the soil all prepped ahead of time.
CLOSED: rhubarb
LOL, did you have to hose them down after they played in the dirt?
well, their hands. I had a table set up to show them how different things grow. So I had a carrot and potato, bell pepper and tomato, herbs and ginger. They all wanted to try tasting the herbs and the ginger but I warned them that the ginger was really hot. Still a few took a tiny piece (mostly it smelled so good) and got quite a shock and spit them out. But a couple of them liked the ginger anyway. it was a fun day. Oddly, the kids dead-heading the marigolds and petunias????
