Fall R/U

Caddo Mills, TX(Zone 8a)

Just wondering if there is going to be one this year? I don't have anything to share, but would love to see everyone.

Grandview, TX(Zone 8a)

Curious as well.....Love spending time with everyone

Arlington, TX

A celebration to mark our surviving this summer!

Grandview, TX(Zone 8a)

Most certainly!!!! ;)

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Sheila and I have been thinking about it, but didn't know if anyone would be up to it.
Would we be willing to pay the park fee even if we don't have many plants? also if less people attend, the share of the cost will be higher.
What do you guys think?
Josephine.

Arlington, TX

If there is enough interest, I am in. Perhaps we need to rename the event? Would anyone even want to plant anything this fall?

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I will be planting this fall, it is the best time to set plants out in Texas.

Dallas, TX

I agree with newton, a celebration of surviving this summer. I'd love to have a RU.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

O.K guys even if we have to pay $10 each? We need to have 20 people to make $5 each.

Arlington, TX

Lets put it out there and see how many people respond. If we don't get enough, we won't have the event.

Arlington, TX

I will plant to replace what I lost but have few volunteers to share. I do think that with the cooler weather I might start being able to pot up a few things. Nothing new or fancy though.
Cheryl

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm in! I'd bet people would come for the food and fellowship. I have a few plants to trade, too!

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

I would come, and I have seen a few volunteers that I was planning to pot up.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Well it looks like things are getting warm.

Grandview, TX(Zone 8a)

I'll go, but I don't think I'll have any plants to trade. That's ok though, the food and friends is the best part. The plants are the bonus.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

I am interested too. I know I have seeds and if it rains, there should be more.

Caddo Mills, TX(Zone 8a)

Of course I'm in then. I don't have any to share, but might have some okra seeds.

Brady, TX(Zone 8a)

What's the location?

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, we normally have at Randoll mill park in Arlington, but nothing has been decided yet.

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

I'll come if my calendar is clear. Don't think I'll have many plants to share, but I'd love to visit with everyone.

Dallas, TX

Dear organizers,

I've been thinking (yes, I know that's where trouble starts). If we're concerned about costs I would be more than happy to host. I have a large property, plenty of room for parking (on street and off), plenty of room to set out whatever plants anyone might bring and I'm only about 10-15 mins away from our usual meeting location; plus, we have power, we could cook out, etc.. We'd just need to get a hold of some folding tables and people would have to bring their own chairs, but I think we could pull this off.

Let me know what you think,

Kate

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Kate, that sounds like a wonderful idea, I guess a date would have to be decided, i will be available after October 8th.
Josephine.

Dallas, TX

Well, all my Sundays in Oct are free. So whatever works for most people.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Great!! O.K. people speak up now.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

I am available all but the last weekend of October.

Grandview, TX(Zone 8a)

I won't be able to come the first weekend in Oct.

Caddo Mills, TX(Zone 8a)

I won't be able to come the first weekend either.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Saturdays are no good for me. I can do any Sunday.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Oct 8,Oct 22 and 23 are not good but everything else is free. Thanks Kate for offering your place.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Kate, if Sundays are what you have free how about Sunday October 16th?
It seems like a good middle of the road day.
Josephine.

Arlington, TX

Oct. 16th sounds good to me. I haven't dug up any plants and really don't have a lot to share anyway. I think for me, I am just going to bring a few that I find and not advertise for trades. If no one wants what I have, I can find homes for them at work or my own yard.
BTW Josephine, I have R. nudiflora coming up everywhere! And, I love it! Not invasive really as it is easy to remove. Thanks for sharing it with me, it is one of my new favorites this season.

Dallas, TX

Sunday the 16th it is. Let me know what else I need to do :)

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I am glad you like it Cheryl, we love it too, one of the most heat and drought tolerant plants around.
Josephine.

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

I would love to join in the Fall RU (last year it conflicted with a golf date). I don't usually have many plants to offer anyway, and this year will be no different. But I'll try to bring Starbucks used coffee grounds to swap.

Carla

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Very good Carla glad you can make it.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

It would be great to see you.

Grandview, TX(Zone 8a)

WooHoo!!! Oct. 16th!!! I can't wait to see y'all again.

LOL Carla, I got so excited when I read you were bringing Starbucks....then I finished reading the sentence LOL
