Unknown to me a very quick hummingbird moth feeding on salvia.

Very cool! Thanks for the ID Dale. I had one of those cruising around about a month ago on my lantana. I had a terrible pic, Wildcat's is much better. The white "ring" around the abdomen is very interesting.

Yakmon thanks but you should see how bad the other dozen pictures were. That moth moves very fast.
I know what you mean. It was just about dark when I saw mine buzzing around and I just couldn't seem to get the right camera settings for a decent pic! Good job.

These are awesome I gave up taking pics until a get a better camera, right now we get a pretty close up look at them feeding at dusk on our ginger flowers thay love them and are there faithfully every evening...Makes me thankful of where we live that I can share things like this with the kids.
