You need a good camera with a fast lens, fast shutter speed, good lighting, image stabilization or tripod and a little luck. A 10 billion dollar zoom lens helps too! The way they are swarming my feeder right now, I should be able to get some decent pics tomorrow! It is so much more exciting to take photos of them on flowers instead of a feeder, but they are fearless at my feeder. I got within 6 inches of several this evening. I just stood very still and I could feel the wind from their wings as they hovered overhead.

Good luck!

I made a mistake this afternood. I had been wearing a red headband all day, and had to work indoor because I had injured my back muscles...and decided to go out for a breath of fresh air...wrong-o I was dodging the crazy things...they are after my headband...LOL
