I saw this bird today whilst working through a forest and not far from a large pond, at first I thought it was possibly a red-breasted nuthatch due to the black crown and black stripe through the eye, however it was more of an olive-drab color than the normal nuthatch coloring so I'm thinking it may be another bird, but I just can't figure out what.
Any help with the ID greatly appreciated as always. If needed I have a couple more pictures of it.
CLOSED: Nuthatch?
To add, I've just looked through some of the other pictures and realized the crown isn't all black, it's just a stripe above the eye so I'm now thinking red-eyed vireo?
Red-eye for me too
Yep, Red-eyed Vireo
Resin
Thanks you both.
