If anyone is close enough to come get what is left of my epis they can have them free. The freezes, and high temps this year and last plus the fact that I am having problems doing things has done a number on mine. And I will to let anyone who wants them and can give them the proper care have them

Free to good home
Hi Sandy, I sure wish I lived closer to you. you have a great list of epis.
Lin
I have lost over half of them. And the rest of them are in bad shape. Can not afford to run a heater as much as was needed last winter nor a fan this year, ran up the electric bill last summer with a fan going all the time and still get way to hot out there. We lost the oak tree that shaded it in the afternoon last year and the oak tree in the yard behind us died this year so you are talking way above 100 degrees out there every day.
I am having enough trouble keeping my other plants alive. Watering 2 to 3 times a day.
Ouch, That is pretty much the way it has been here. I keep moving the ones I have into deeper and deeper shade. Hubby has been keeping them from dying.
Very little shade and that has the pots of plants that I am growing out to be put in the yard, which has been but on hold until it cools off
I am thinking that if anything is still alive when it cools off I will take cuttings off all of them and then mail them out to who ever once them. Just hope there is some left. I have stopped looking at the temperature out there. I have been over 100 on our front porch in the shade. Heavens only knows what it is in the shade house.
When I watered early this morning I was dripping wet by the time I finished. The heat index has been really bad.
That is the way it has been here. I haven't been able to work outside much at all this summer. I should be out working with them now. I would be happy to send postage for cuttings whenever you offer them. Did the tangerine christmas cactus survive for you? mine didn't make it.
Lin
I lost all of my Christmas Cactus.
I have a friend who may take most of them, the ones she has already taken have improved a lot.
If she can save them we maybe able to share cuttings later. She has a lot more shade than I do.
Sandy, I am so sorry to hear of this. If I lived closer, I'd take your plants. New York has also been roasting this year, and then we had a lot of rain. Many of my plants are under the eaves and weren't affected but some were hanging under the deck and had to come inside or face drowning. I'm loathe to drag the largest pots back outdoors for one more month so they will have to stay in the sun room Some of my tropical cacti look better than others but we won't know which will survive until they come in before frost strikes. Like you, the cost of heating/cooling has become an issue for me, and this is why I'm switching from orchids to C&S and other more tolerant tropicals. It breaks my heart, but the economy is a factor in deciding which plants to keep and which must go. I manage the garden and plant section in my local hardware store so get my plant fix during three seasons there. This is small comfort for you, but I do understand what you are going through. You never know what will happen. There are many of us facing similar circumstances and share your plight. So sorry!
Sandy, i can send cuttings for some of my Christmas cactus if you want them. I was given a pink sunrise cactus this spring too that I can share. ( I think it is an easter cactus.) anyway, if you are interested, I will be happy to send some.
I understand. No problem at all. That is a gorgeous butterfly.
If you grow passies, let me know. The bflies love to eat them. I have some I can share with you. Aristolochia too.
Thanks I have Passies and 3 kinds of Aristolochias
Sandy, I've been away from DG for a long time. Just checking in and found this tread. I'm so sorry to hear about your epis :-( Your collection was one of the nicest I've seen. You've sent me many cuttings over the last 5 years or so, and I know you sent many cuttings to others as well. Know that your collection lives on, and if you'd ever like to take up the hobby again, I'd be happy to send you cuttings. I'm sure everyone else who's gotten plants from you over the years feels the same way.
Sending a mental hug to you threw the computer
thanks everyone, the last of the epis where taken to their new homes yesterday.
