Suggestions/Help

Arlington, TX

I want to do a lab on photosynthesis with my students that requires mint plants. Anyone know where I can get some or maybe have some to donate? I need quite a few for my whole department. Has anyone grown them from seed and if so how fast do they grow?

There are so many kinds of mint that is a tough one Is Lemon Balm a true mint? if so let me know as I have way more seeds fall to the ground that I want LOL

I think peppermint or spearmint would work better. I need mature plants, now lol.

Cheryl, I have apple, spear, old time, and one or two others, would cuttings work? You know how quick they root and I can easily cut several stems of each. I shipped some plants the other day to VA and they made it fine.

Joy,
I appreciate the offer and maybe we can talk if I can't find any rooted plants for sale. I am not sure there is any particular mint plant listed so any real mint would probably work. Do you know if any place still has plants for sale?

I am sorry Cheryl but I don't have any mints at all.
Could you use Salvia? it is in the mint family.
Josephine.

Good question but there must be a reason they require mint plants.

Well go ahead and find out and if you can use it I can give you some salvia.
