When do most of you stop fertilizing your houseplants for winter?

Hi Paul,
I don't really fertilize my houseplants all that much, but on the ones that I do, I usually stop about the same time that I start winterizing and bringing in my outdoor plants. The exceptions of course, are the winter bloomers like Cyclamen that actively grow during the winter.

Most indoor plants are tropical in origin and non-seasonal. Many grow just as well in winter as they do in summer. Yes, there is less available light in winter and that does tend to slow growth a bit, but many healthy indoor plants continue to grow vigorously in winter. It is the growth rate, not the season, that determines a plant's needs for water and nutrients.
