Very interesting in deed. What would human birth control be doing on cucumbers?

A good reason to only buy produce grown in the USA!

...The fruit could not be sold and was instead fed to fish and pigs... I wonder what will happen to these poor pigs and fish?

The use of biosolids, a schmancy name for sludge/sewage, on commercial agricultural lands and land surrounding commercial agriculture concerns all over this country does not leave us in a position to point fingers. Some of the top processors of our food have reversed their stands on purchasing foods grown in sludge. Others still stand firm in opposition. We have farms in our area that are using sludge fertilizers and community members in opposition who sign the roads pointing to the farms. Maybe think about what your opinion or stand is and check to see local regulations. More than half the states in the U.S. allow for sludge ferts on agricultural and public lands.

It is truly frightening, what we are doing to ourselves. I also just read that most of the apple juice sold here comes from concentrate out of China, and has high levels of lead. Think about who drinks the most apple juice in this country if you want to get really upset.

I had no idea about the apple juice. Many different juice brands use apple juice as a "filler" so they can say 100% juice. I will be much more careful from now on. At least I know our orange and grapefruit juice is good because we grow citrus.

I'm hoping that organic is okay. My DGD wanted to make a salad dressing that called for a cup of apple juice concentrate, undiluted, and I made her use organic apple juice that I reduced for a bit. I'm sure it wasn't as thick as it should have been but I didn't care.
