Any recommendations for a full-sun shrub in a wet area?

Our sprinklers leave a soppy wet strip along our fence line -- one that would benefit from a privacy planting. Thus far, I've read that spirea and dogwood might do well there....anyone have experience with these? Any other ideas?

My dad has tried dogwood several times before. Everytime that they died, it was because of waterlogged soil (we've got
the heavy clay), so if you don't have good drainage, that's probably not a good spot for dogwoods. Have you considered
swamp plants? There are some beautiful plants that grow down at the Big Thicket. Maybe you could look for something
like those. Or maybe vines like coral honeysuckle, yellow jessamine, or maypop? I know that our honeysuckle hasn't
seemed to be affected by the drought, but doesn't mind lots of water either.

Brandon -- thanks so much for the input!! You actually confirmed the decision I made today whilst in a local nursery: Swamp Mallow Hibicus! "Swamp," indeed...good thinkin'. =) The wetness in that part of my lawn isn't free-standing water, but it's certainly squishy/soggy (bog?), so the dozen mallows will do so well over there.

I appreciate your answering & sharing your input!

Sure thing, and great choice!
