Who is the biggest supplier of Glads?

Wauseon, OH(Zone 5a)

I would like to plant Glads next year and would like to know who has the best supplier of Glads?

Lawrenceville, GA(Zone 7a)

I can not toot my own horn, but let the Garden Watchdog speak for itself.

I've ordered from Brent and Becky's in the past, they have bold colors. This spring I ordered from DeBruynseed.com - they had the best prices I've seen on bulbs that you can pick your colors. The bulbs weren't the largest I've ever seen, but pretty good sized. The cheapest are usually the bags of mixed colors that you can buy at big box stores in the spring, but the colors are usually very pale.

Notewa Gardens in Michigan has very nice bulbs and lots of choices

I looked up Notewa Gardens and did not bring it up.

Does anyone have a Mail Order Catalog on Glads?

Taylorsville, KY

I think I threw their catalog away but I will look for it. They are in the Garden Watchdog with 4 positives. This is their website: http://www.nowetagardens.com/

I used to live by them and would drive by their fields of glads and it is gorgeous. They also sell bunches of them at their farm and they are huge. I'll get back with you on the catalog. kim

GoldenEagle....sorry, I don't have their catalog anymore (and I spelled their name incorrectly). But, it looks like you can request a catalog on their website and it says they will be reopening in November. I'm not quite sure why b/c I don't think they will ship again until next spring but maybe they will ship to warm zones in the fall. I definitely can vouch for their bulbs. i think they are the best ! kim

I don't think many of the bulbs I bought from DeBruyn bloomed for me this summer. Hopefully they will bloom next year, but you get what you pay for I guess.

When did you plant them?
Did they get a lot of sun?
What size did you get?
Were they watered well in Summer?
Did you dig them up or are you leaving them in the ground over Winter?

Athens, PA

I have not bought or planted glads in years, but personally speaking I am a bleek fan myself....

Duxbury, MA(Zone 7a)

I believe it was the size of the bulbs, because other bulbs that I had kept from previous years bloomed nicely. But I didn't see the specific colors I bought from deBruyn. I usually dig them up, but I noticed a few that I missed that came back this summer, and we had a very cold winter last year, so I thought I might try leaving them this year. But that makes it harder to add bulbs in the spring.

Even the size of a grape would give a flower most of the time. It takes about 90 days average for a Gladiolus to flower and the biggest problem is light, but if others came up and flowered, then the spot should be OK.

If the foliage came up healthy and stayed that way, then the bulbs must have been OK

So as long as you planted them no later then June, they should have flowered.

That's all I have.
