Based on the birds I see most often around here, I'd guess this could be a juvenile Little Green Heron?
Nothing else in my field guide seems close.
Anyone know? Sorry, but this is the best shot I could get. He was pretty far away.

Black-crowned Night Heron, juvenile - those big white teardrop spots on the wings are diagnostic for that.
