Standing cypress is starting to bloom. An accident as I didn't even plant any of these seeds it just showed up in my winter sowing experiment. Only one little plant and the 4 flower spikes are only about 20 inches tall. It's a very nice color and I hope I get some seeds to try again next year.

Ipomopsis rubra
I have seeds of these and I can bring at the Fall RU.
How do they grow for you? Easy, self seeding?
Don't know. I never got around to planting any. I gave away all the seeds but have another order coming in in September.
I don't have any luck with Standing Cypress, I could tell a few stories about my difficulties, I think I am cursed when it comes to that plant, and what do you know? I love that plant!!!
On the other hand Sheila has excellent luck with it, talk to her, she has gotten them to be gigantic!!!
Josephine.
That is so pretty...would like to try them if you have extra seeds.
Not sure I will as I only have the one plant with 4 stalks. But other have seeds.

Your garden is looking great Cheryl!! Congrats on the SC blooms too. I am sure you will have some seeds from those. Hummers love those red blooms too. I want to have shorter ones, but they keep growing and growing here, two have been nine foot tall. I am going to try some seeds in different areas this next year.
9 feet is pretty impressive.
Yes it is, you should have seen it, I have a picture somewhere, but no time to look for it now, I am out there gardening in the drizzle, what a joy!!!
Yep, that girl knows how to grow them!!!
