How do people usually root large brug cuttings? I had a large offshoot, at least 3 feet tall, that I cut off my main plant to root up for someone. I put the cutting in a pot of moist potting soil but now I am second guessing that choice. Is it OK to root directly in soil and if not what is a recommended method for large cuttings?
Rooting a big cutting
I always root mine in water, works good but keep it fresh
Always put mine in water with a little peroxide & as soon as they form the white nubbies I put them in soil. Works great for me. Have heard to put them in soil before the roots form. Don't know why but since "it ain't broke I'm not going to fix it." Think they are the easiest things to root. Good luck!
Hugs,
Judy
The reason to pot them up befor actual roots form is because the roots will be weak in water, they are much stronger developing in soil, like you as soon as nubbies form I plant them, I also add small amount of peroxide when I wate them.
