I just wanted to post some pics of things going on here in NC...
This is a pic of my resident ducks and geese.
pictures of randomness...
Here is one of some geese that showed up in the last few days...They are noisy and being general pests. They keep chasing my ducks and geese around when I go out to feed them. I have to sneak out to feed the resident babies so they can get some food. I've had to also throw out cracked corn to the new ones to distract them from the good stuff I give the others. If they would just settle down a bit I wouldn't care much, but when they chase the others then they get a good scolding and chased off.
Keep em comin!! :) Congrats on the moonflower!
Love to look at pics.Nice ones to!
I thought I should also add some pics of the chickies...So here goes.
Here is one of Big Red. He is one of my New Hampshires. The others are the EE, Wyadotte and in the back ground is a partridge Plymouth Rock.
Big Red is the biggest chickens in my coop and he gets chased off by a bunch of the smaller males. Its kinda funny how he just submits to the others. But where there is food involved he just butts right in.
Here is my dominate male (the one looking into the camera). He has finally settled down and quit chasing all the others around. He likes to roost up in the rafters of the coop - a couple others do once in a while, but he does it consistently. Also, in the pic is a blue/red laced Wyadotte on the left and a silver laced on on the right and another partridge rock. Both in the front are EE, then there is Big Red again in the back.
This one shows the one I call Turkey - he is the silver laced there in the middle with the big comb. Then the other there in the front are a some of my Wyadottes. In the background is 2 New Hampshires and a Partridge Rock. I wasn't able to get a good pic of my Faverolles so that will have to wait until later.
I love all the pictures! Also I am amazed that none of your hens show much if any "rooster damage" as you have quite a few males.
Oh porkpal, I'm sure the rooster damage will come at some point, but right now the only feathers that get pulled are the ones they pick out to eat. Crazy things eating feathers when they get loads of food everyday...
