This is a new bird to my feeder today - it is small (about the same size as a chipping sparrow), and looked gray to me, with a brownish head and light colored breast/belly. Long pointy beak, short tail, and it just flitted to the cylinder feeder, snatched a sunflower seed, and flew off. There were tons of them, or the same few back every minute or so. What is it?
BTW, I'm in GA, so it would be a bird that comes to this area.
CLOSED: Wren?
Brown-headed Nuthatch, juvenile. Presumably a family group to account for the number you saw, but each may also visit the feeder several times to collect seeds to hide away for a rainy day.
Resin
Thanks, Resin! They were back again today :)
