I have a friend that has sent me pictures not knowing what she has ..she lives an hour away so I can't go look up close at them

She thought maybe she had cucumbers growing as one has small yellow flowers but shoot mine didn't even make it in the garden before I had fried greens from the heat

I had one similar to that a couple of years ago and josephine ID it as a mallow but the leaves look smaller anywho I got it pulled but every now and then another one will come ..I saw lots of the mallows while visiting with the kin down in Louisiana and think I brought seed home as hitchikers

I do see a mallow in the center of the second picture, I don't know what the others are.

Phyllis, please let me know if you find out. I've had a couple of those come up this year in pots I got from the ETRU last year. They look a bit like squash, but not as vigorous and flowers (yellow) are much smaller. I don't have a picture because the heat got them all eventually, but I'd like to know what they were.

Do they have small yellow flowers underneath? It looks like a native Physallis which is related to the Cape Gooseberry or Ground Cherry. You can eat the husked berries of the cultivated varieties but dont take a chance on the wild ones.

I am referring to the plant that has points on the edges of the leaves. I dont know about the one that has rounded leaves.
