Today I finally removed a sick cherry tree in my new yard that was dying a slow death. After unearthing what little root structure there was, I found armillaria plain as day. I REALLLLLLY wanted to plant a a pyrus of some sort, but now I think it seems futile.
Anyone have any experience replanting where another tree died from armillaria.
There doesn't seem to be many treatment options other than expensive and toxic soil fumigation. I have had great luck using tea tree oil on various fungi in the garden and wondering if it would do more harm than good to drench the soil with some tea tree oil saturated water? Thoughts?
Experience with armillaria root rot?
I think I am going to put my water feature I will eventually build here instead.
