Took a different way home from work on Friday.
Platanthera ciliaris - Yellow Fringed Orchid
Very nice!
I have actually seen three colonies this past week. One was on a forest service road, half of which was plowed under by a road grader and the rest had tree branches thrown on top of them.
Oh my gosh, sounds like they need rescuing! Do you have a native plant society in your area that rescues plants that are being destroyed?
I rescued them myself.
You can read all about it here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1200822/
