I've named a few of mine that I can tell apart. Simple stuff like Mamma and Pappa for my Faverolles (even though they are still not of egg laying/mating age). One of my big wyandottes is called Turkey because my son says his head looks like a turkey. Then there is Big Red (kinda obvious the reason for his name)...and then there is Meanie our male easter egger who likes to beat-up all the other chickens. I'll think of other names for some of them once I can tell them apart better.

I stand corrected. WOW!!! What a wonderful, picture. Make sure you tell your son, we thank him for his service. We also salute you for loaning your son to this Country...God Bless all of you...Hay

IowaAnn, that's the BEST news. Please Thank him, and your family, as Hay said.

I am like Donna, I don't name them anymore :(. The named ones always seem to be targets. Some are still with me from earlier days, and they have "official" names. The others, like titanium's, go more by descriptions. Some as groups (the Turkentines, Bobby'sBrother'schickens) but I try to avoid actually naming them. I admit that some have names that are never spoken, but they're named in my head. Don't know if that will help...

It's great having our son back home safe and sound. Sleepless nights with worry are replaced with joyful nights of blissful sleep. I'll give him your thanks and blessings!
