Happy Birthday EarleG!!
Happy Birthday Earl
Thanks, Lynn and Jim! I appreciate the birthday greetings. Lynn, I wanted to let you know that one of the kohlerias you sent has flowered, as well as the Diastema vexans, and all of the other plants are doing just fine. I hope you are getting as much pleasure from the ones I sent you. Thanks again!
Earle
Earle,
That's great! Which Kohleria was it or what color flower? I am enjoying my violets as well. The original mother Diastema plant came from Jim.
When it's cooler we can discuss more trade.I have several boxes I need to get out,but not in this heat!
Lynn
BTW Your birthday picture is one of Jim's own hybrids.

Hi Lynn,
I don't know which kohleria it was. The flower is bright orange and the leaves have a very distinctive dark veining. As to a trade, I am more than open to it. The plants that I grew from leaves are now in 4 inch pots and flowering. They are taking up lots of space...and I've already started my next batch of leaves.
The weather here has given us a break for a couple of days. We seem to have traded the heat for clouds and thunderstorms, but the heat is coming back this weekend. Gotta get a little work done in the veggie garden before then.
The birthday picture is lovely. I have seen comments from others on Jim's hybridizing skills.
Take care. Stay cool.
Earle G
