Madegascar Palm

Cave Spring, GA(Zone 7a)

My aunt gave me a Madegascar Palm the other day because she didn't want to drag it inside for the winter. It is about 7 ft tall, and if it keeps growing, it will be too big for our house. Has anyone ever cut the top out of one? If you haven't, do you think I might be able to air layer it?

Merkat123 the tops won't root as a rule..these plants can be cut back but the tops won't root. They grow these plants from seed only at most commercial growers.

Kyle, Thanks so much for letting me know I can cut it back. It's so tall that it falls over every time I try to move it. Linda
