Thats a huge clump, this is one of my favourite thistles, its a shame they're not more common in the wild.

Yes, it really took my breath away, easily 10-12 feet high and as much across. A fabulous sight. Very impressed with the herbaceous borders there.

12 ft? Its only supposed to reach 6ft! Must be boosted up with fertilizer.
