We live in south central Minnesota and have been hearing a song bird starting at dusk for the last month. The song is very clear, 3 notes and descending the scale. We finally were able to see him & it does resemble an immature Baltimore Oriole (which we have a lot of), but the song doesn't match. We've been trying to find this bird by matching the songs, but have been unable to find it. Any ideas?
CLOSED: ID Please
Certainly looks like an immature or female Baltimore Oriole

That's exactly what we thought. But the song of 3-4 descending notes is one we'd never heard. We can go out in the yard and repeat the call and the bird will fly fairly close and respond....we've now also heard it and seen it during the day.
Just found another website with the exact song we've been hearing! They also agree....immature Baltimore Oriole! Mystery solved...thanks for the help!
