Help! Brain went on holiday, what is this?

Several years ago a friend gave me a pot of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. It never did well after planting and finally died last winter. However, this vine has shown up every year and covers the fence, although not as aggressively as HBV. It was in the pot with the YTT originally. I used to know the name and now I am totally dumbstruck.

Good Afternoon!

Your vine is a coral vine - Antignon leptopus.

Ahhh, Mexican Coral Vine, but these flowers never open and are not as big as your fingernail, that is what has me confused.

Mine are not producing many blooms because of the drought. Usually, they are covered in tiny blooms this time of year.

It is truly beautiful when covered in blooms. Does it reseed or come up from the roots?

It comes back from the roots if it dies back. I love them but mine haven't flowered yet. They also come in red and a white. The red is very hard to get. I had them in a pot and I was very surprised how thick the roots got.
I saw a house here were the whole side was covered in blooms. I was really great looking. I have to go back and see if I can get a bunch of seeds.
