I'm sure it is a type of Konjac, but all the pictures I see have either a pink or maroon, purple flower. I have had mine several years - but mine had a pretty orange/ rust color bloom. Mine only bloomed once a couple of years ago. Does this orange one have a different name??

I didn't have a bloom this year for I think the main tuber withered gave rise to many other offsprings. I do have quite a few others coming up and flourish this year. But no flower. Konjacs are now in pots to avoid being eaten by voles outdoor.
Those pics were taken about 2 years ago - no blooms since and I got no seeds. I gave my neighbor one of the babies and hers bloomed and left her a seed pod - but it was so strange, the pod was only about 6 inches off the ground, Here is a pic of it - she didn't offer me any seeds, but I didn't ask.

How cool are those seeds! Thank you for sharing the picture with us gardeners on DG. That's awesome! May I suggest that you get the I.D. verified, and add the seeds onto plantfiles for referrence? That would be double awesome!

The seed pod is impressive, but going by the petiole spotting on the leaf next to it, this plant is not Konjac, but what used to be known as Sauromatum guttatum. Now it is classified as Typhonium. The leaf is palmately divided and the plant will produce more than one leaf in a growing season. It is also often called "Voodoo Lily" but is not like the Konjac at all. I have a few other types of Typhonium, some with color on the leaves, and if I can get my "voodoo lily" to bloom at the right time, i'll be mixin' them up!

Here is one of the leaves - just a small offset that I potted up.
Ummm, conflicting information. The leaflets of Sauromatum guttatum according to this source is more like the 'blackdragon' smaller variety b/w the two. The pic. above from the small offset Azalea just posted looks more like my Konjac.

Azalea, your leaf picture is definitely a Konjac. But the berry pod you pictured earlier in this thread is a dead ringer for the fruiting body of Sauromatum guttatum, as is the green petiole with oval dark spots. Konjac petioles do not look like that.

That "other type" with the semicircle of leaves is Sauromatum guttatum a.k.a. Typhonium. The picture preceding it is Konjac. I rest my case!

I'll share my thread here so we can look and compare. I've both of the Konjac and the S. guttatum. And like LariAnn stated the S. guttatum's petiole is much smaller and low to the ground compared to that of Konjac. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1084960/
I wished I had a better picture of the S. guttatum's bloom. But here is a close up of the petiole that we've mentioned time and again. It's smaller thank that's of Konjac's and low to the ground as LariAnn has stated time and again. lol. LariAnn, I thank you for helping us gardeners differentiating the differences b/w species of these plants. Your contribution to DG is greatly appreciated.

Tommy - I think your pic is sidewys because it's too big - I always resize mine to no more than 1000 pixels. The flower is gorgeous tho, such a rich dark color.
