Misc. pics of the pets

Remember the little Silkie that got attacked and couldn't see for a while. This is it, the feathers around the eyes are still gone, but she/he is lively and can see out of both eyes. It is starting to get its feathers and tail now and yes, it is still with the momma hen that took it back.

Here is another set of babies we have, these are probably about 3 months old now. One is a Bow Tie Silkie, the other is a Silkie/Cochin mix.

Here are our two young ducks, the gray one is two months old, the black is one month old and so far looks just like his father Yoshi (the black duck we had that disappeared about a month ago).
The gray is also Yoshis baby, you can tell by the pattern, but he is mixed with a Buff duck so he turned out more gray with yellow feet and has some buff colorations on him. We are pretty sure the gray is a male and have named him Joey.

This is PJ, our Blue Cochin hen that likes to be by herself. She is about 5 years old and is still a good egg layer and a sweet little hen.

Great Family Smedge!!! I especially lo-ove the Silkie/cochin mix......I have one too!! We will have to keep in touch and compare grow-up pix on them. So glad that your little Silkie baby has no damage to its eyes.
I have no ducks, turkeys or bow-ties so I will enjoy your photos of them!! Hmmmmm Bow-tie babies.....verrrrry interesting.......maybe later!! LOL!!!

Smedge - Your grey duckie looks like my grey duckie. Mine is a female though. She is molting right now and her feathers are looking tons better than they were. She was a rescue and the grey was more a red clay stained grey. I'll have to post a picture of her later so you can see what she looks like. I also have a couple black ducks that are boys too. Maybe, I should post a group pic just for fun.

titanium, Yes, post pics, would love to see your duck.

Green, Snickers is a character and full of energy. She is having to learn not to chase the chickens although she loves to play chase with our older male duck and he seems to love to play chase with her.

Eufaula, Bow Tie Silkies are very intersting. I'll post a pic of the parents too. I'm not sure if this baby is a roo or a hen, hoping for a hen, but I think it may be a roo. The hen looks like she is wearing her fur hat and needs a fancy necklace to wear, she is very pretty even with her naked neck.

Here is a picture of the gang for ya. The boys in black and the white crested female have lost their wing feathers because of molting. You can see it really well on the boys with the pin feathers sticking out. The gray female is going through a slower molt, but she is getting a lot prettier gray than when I got her. The big white male there seems to be the only one that is not loosing feathers like the others.
If you look really close in the background you can see the male mallards are going through the change from juvie to adult.
The geese have just finished up their molting too so lots of feathered friends doing what nature intended.

If I went around the yard and the pond area I could probably fill up a couple of pillows with all the feathers that are laying around.
It's been interesting to watch the fish jumping up out of the water after the feathers thinking they are getting a tasty meal.

Nauvoo, AL(Zone 7a)

nice happy ending for the baby silkie.
Cute= Snickers = assuming snickers cause he is the color of a snickers candy bar.
What are you going to do with all those ducks? Do you eat them?

We have 6 ducks and 2 geese. The geese are huge. We were hoping they were
male and female but no idea yet. The ducks are happily married.

Conroe, TX

We don't eat our ducks, they are all pets, and named.

ZZ we have figured out that this showgirl is a roo, don't need another roo so I'm not sure what we will do with him. Hope we can find him a good home. Right now due to some deaths, we only have two roos and one hen in our white Silkies, so another roo wouldn't be needed (poor hen), The little baby (1st pic) is a white Silkie too (not showgirl), hoping It's a female.
