Dennis from California wants to know if it is good or bad and what is it
Help for a friend
I am not sure, but it looks like a Spotted Beetle, not good news.
Do you know what it is a pest of???
I looks like a cucumber beetle that affects beans, corn, cucumber, eggplant, melons, peas, potato, squash, tomato and several fruit trees. Adults eat holes in leaves and spread bacteria wilt and cucumber mosaic. Larvae eat plant roots and stems. (Texas Bug Book by Garret)
This bug made me think seriously about buying row covers. I kill them when I see them!
