...and it STILL pretty much looks like that! The base is mostly green...and its neighbor plant looked like it was going to bloom last July, too -- but we are still waiting. (Guess this is the 'slow food' version of the plant world -- WORTH WAITING FOR!)

The yucca of 2011 is now dried -- but the stalk stem is still standing
and a younger plant is now blooming.

The Yucca is a great plant!

I recall one year (perhaps 10 years ago) that
we had one that grew really tall...
a neighbor was walking her dog past it
and the dog just looked up at it in awe.
I think that one was the tallest we've ever had.

It is just exciting to see them bloom...
driving to work I can see them in the
surrounding hills. Just beautiful!

I agree. I used to underestimate their beauty and then one day I came face to face with one and fell in love.
