I tried a new hybrid from Johnny's this year called "Tasty Bites". I picked and ate the first one this morning. I think the time between picking and eating was about ten minutes LOL - can't get anything from the store that fresh.
Seeds were sown indoors under lights April 1st. Seeds began sprouting April 9th. From sowing seeds to first one harvested: 98 days.
The taste was pleasant, and not overly sweet. Small seed cavity. Flesh color was light orange. Rind was very firm. No insect damage. Slipped VERY easily from vine.
No guesswork as to when it was "ripe".
