aggressive redwings?

mid central, FL(Zone 9a)

has anyone here ever noticed a male redwing showing aggression towards other birds? i'm not just talking chasing them from the feeder but actually attacking and trying to carry another bird away? this happened at my feeder last week.
i have a male redwing who frequents the feeder along with a host of other birds including cardinals, chickadees and titmice. as i was watching them, the redwing suddenly chased and grabbed a titmouse and although he couldn't get very high into the air (he was struggling with the weight), he definitely had a hold of the titmouse and carried him a few feet before letting him go.
just a few minutes ago i watched as the redwing chased a titmouse for about 25'.
what's going on?

Redwings are very inoffensive . . . presume you mean Red-winged Blackbirds, which are completely different?!

Hi tracks. I just googled "aggression in red-winged blackbirds" and came up with a number of reasons why these birds become aggressive with other birds and even people.

It's too numerous to state here but you might want to google this yourself to read the different articles.

I'm sure it's very upsetting seeing them go after the Titmouse. They may be nesting nearby.
