Small Flower

My Clematis Ville De Lyon just flowered tody, and it is very small, will get bigger next year?

It's not a huge flower. Expect 4 to 6" per Brushwood. Pretty photo of it growing on a lantern pole here along with information about it:

I saw it last week at a nursery here on Long Island and doubt it was larger than yours. Must be the cool spring.

I hope so, although the the rest of the plant is also small, I wonder if that might have something to do with it being a small
flower.
