anyone have any rooted singapores available?
rooted singapores
I've a dwarf 'Pink Singapore', but that the only one I've got. Sorry Mr. D.
okay. i am checking around. oh, you have to get a plain singapore, too!
Is that the white with yellow center?
yes and very fragrant!
I think I've a NOID that a friend said it looks like 'Singapore'. It's behaving a bit strange though ...
how is it behaving?
it has leaves like this? http://www.plumeria101.com/master_gallery/singapore/mvd-1297b.jpg
ummm...what's up with your friend? LOL that looks like the rubra species and not the obtusa. LOL
sometimes inflos will produce branches. i have one like that! i just left it alone. believe it or not, but those branches will have inflos one day.
do you graft?
No I don't know how -- yet. Wanna be my mentor? And "my friend" is truly a white plumeria. lol He's NOT a red flowering cousin at all. lol. Hummmn, those branches will have inflos.? Boys! That is going to be a "stackable" trees for sure.
haha! i was making mention of this comment from you. "I think I've a NOID that a friend said it looks like 'Singapore'."
oh, i am testing the grafting waters myself as i am very rusty. i did recently graft a couple. here's one that appears to be successful.
yeah, all branches have the potential to produce inflos. and from the health of your plumies, i'd say you'll see blooms on those branches.
Yes, that is the very same NOID I'm talking about. Could you give a drawing how the stock was connected to the scion beneath the tape. BTW, is that a water proof electrical tape? Thanks.
i kept it simple and used a horizontal cut. you want to make sure that the rootstock and scion are hydrated. they should also ooze sap. i did a pinprick on both to see if sap flowed freely before i did the graft.
that is electrical tape. i will leave it on for the rest of the growing season to make sure that the union is solid and that it doesn't dry out. you can see the the scion caliper is slightly smaller. however, it looks like it took since those leaves are not open.
do you have seedlings available that you can use as root stock?
you can down graft to reduce the height of your plumeria. the scion and root stock are from the same plumeria w/ a mid-branch section removed. i want to try that on some cultivars in my collection.
you have dmail.
Hello There, Hope everything is great. I do have a rooted Singapore White, you can have. Just let me know your address and how I send a rooted plumeria. I have never done that before. It is about 1 1/2 foot tall. I have the hardest time rooting these, but I have 2 and will give you one of them :) Pam
wow! that is very kind of you pam. thanks for the offer. i am happy to say though that i did find one. perhaps, someone else will be the happy recipient of your rooted singapore. i just love plant ppl!!! btw, are you looking for any plumeria?
Hi Pam, that's very generous of you to offer. I hope someone will take up on your offer. I do have a white plummie that looks very much like 'Singapore' white. So I'm good. I think. :))
No problem, If I can make someone happy with a plumeria, then I'm Happy... I think I am good on plumeria's now, always looking for new one's, but nothing special. If I bring one more plant home, my husband is going to get rid of me, since I have about 500 in pots now. :)
Oh wow, 500! Congrats. I think. lol
Yes, too many... I have to put them all in the garage over winter, but then springtime comes around and I forget all about my aches and pains. Usually I get my first blooms around April, but this year was very cold, so I have only had blooms since June 20th. I am hoping it will be a warm Fall, so I can enjoy them for awhile.
Pam, I can only imagine how the aroma would be like when they're all in blooms. Not to mention the beauty surrounding your garden. Hard work pays off, in deed.
oh my! 500 plumies must look like a jungle. how fun!
Pam, I would love a rooted Plumeria. I have many plants. Is there anything you are looking for? Sharon Winter, Las Vegas. And I will pay postage.
Derick, how are you? How is the weather in Tucson? We are going to be in the mid 90s all week.
When I was in Vancouver, Washington I went on many walks. I scoured the landscape behind fences between the fences and the sidewalks. Found many small seedling. Brought them home and they are in my holding garden. And they are growing. Have no idea what they are but the majority are variegated. I love variegated leaves.
I posted some of my Hardy Hibiscus on another thread in thee Southwest Forum.
hi sharon! the weather is heating up again. actually, it has been hot for a while, but were 'cooler' and muggy for a few weeks. then, the monsoon decided to take a break. come back! the mugginess sucks but i love it because the plants thrive on it. they just do not like the hot and dry conditions that we have. humidity in the single digits is just not fun! look like someone took a blow torch to my banana leaves and plumie flowers. i hope that you are doing well. i still have a plumie for you...
Well all is well here but a rat is eating my beautiful tomatoes. First it was only eating the ripe ones and now it is eating the green ones. The pest guy came today and set traps. The neighbors called and said there was a dead rat in their pool. Uck.
Our monsoon weather was beautiful. Loved the rain.
I had many items on my to do list today but I got up lazy so I am doing nothing. I have physical therapy on my shoulder at 4pm. Later young man.
