Interested in Hibiscus growers able to trade for postage. Restarting my garden after a spell with depression brought on by the death of my mom and younger brother. My entire garden died down to the grass. After therapy and medication my passion for gardening is the only thing thats helping me get back to normal so would appreciate anyone's help. Thank you in advance.

Diana,

I hope you are doing fine and are back to normal. Gardening is therapeutic no doubt and will help you for sure to be better.

It is too hot now to try to propagate hibiscus unless done under greenhouse conditions. I am sure that San Antonio is now as hot as New Orleans. Even mailing cuttings in this heat is risky, in my opinion. If you can wait about three months, it should get better.

Good luck.

Thank you for your response. I agree about the heat. I have no problem waiting. You're truly an Angel........

Thank you for your reply. I hope I can save my plants through this brutal summer. I am praying hard and watering often.

In the mean time, try your hand at other summer flowers. I have some purple Ruella that grows like crazy in the summer heat. The Hummingbirds and butterflies love it. If you want, I can send you some cuttings of it, but again, I think it is better to wait for cooler temperatures so the travel in the post office trucks is not going to be horrible for the plants.

Take care.

I agree with you; I've aquired the frame from an old swingset someone threw out and Im gonna see if I can make a makshift greenhouse so I can continue to garden thru the winter. The best things come to those who wait so I can definitely wait till you're ready
