HI Cedar, i'm sorry i have limited space in my garden and am only looking for another rose or 2 at this time.

Any suggestions on how to root rose cuttings? I need to cut back my favorite rose and would give anything to be able to root the cuttings. The blooms are the most heavenly smelling and my mother would love to have some.

HI, i find the easiest way for me.....is to take dormant cuttings in winter and stick them right in the ground next to the mother plant........only this can't be done if the ground is frozen......I've had very good luck this way.

You cut them in the winter and stick them in the ground? I will have to try that next winter. I have to cut them back so often. I really would love to propigate this one bush.

Yes, that is exactly what I do. I do scrape some of the green at the bottom off, then dip in rooting hormone, then stick in ground......that's it.

Hey Maureen,
I don't think I can use either of those two roses, but I know you have a great daylily selection. I could trade a Blue skies rose, 3 year old, well established if you had a few daylilies or even some newer iris, that I liked. LMK

I have lots of roses that I will try to root according to your VERY easy method. Hopefully we can get back together next year to do some trading if I'm successful!!
