hey there.
I have three strawberry plants in my raised bed, but watermelon's taking over. Since the strawberries haven't really taken off, thought I'd move them to this really big strawberry pot I have, but concerned about soil compaction (the strawberry pot is 24" tall).
Is there anything I can put in the bottom of the pot to help aeration, like for instance, an upside down pond plant basket? Rocks?
thanks.
Need to Move Strawberries
I put squashed coke cans in the bottom of my containers. They're light weight and work well for me. I've also heard of people putting packing peanuts in the bottom of containers.

thanks.
hey there again!
do you think if I put a 1.5-2" round PVC pipe, cut on an angle on one end, with multiple holes drilled along the length (it'd have to be longer than the strawberry pot), that it'd resolve any compaction and perth (sp?) zone?
thanks.
