crinum color

Hanceville, AL(Zone 7a)

Can anyone enlighten me as to why a red and white striped crinum (milk and wine) would only bloom white in my yard? I have been trying to solve this mystery for more than 10 years. I know it came from a red and white because I dug up the bulbs myself. I have them planted in a variety of soils but they all bloom white. Luciee (;^(

That is a great question. Could it be it was a white one planted by a milk and wine crinum and not one of it's offsets? I love crinums and wanted to have 1 of each till in the last 2 weeks I found out there are about 123 different ones and then there are hybrids.

No, the mother plant is red and white. No other color crinum is planted around it. This is from my Aunt-in-law by way of my Mother-in-law. They are both dead and the one from which I procured mine is red and white. It has to be something missing in the soil. I need to know what so I acn fix the problem. Luciee {;^)
