Any idea what's wrong with my Batfaced Cuphea?

I've grown this plant before and it performed so well for me.
It became so large and healthy. This one seems to be looking worse every week that goes by ;-(
(I circled it in this bed)

Any suggestions?

Oh, and growing in a bed that gets morning sun & complete afternoon shade.

Well it couldn't be not enough light because the lantana is doing well. Sometimes plants are just sick, or it could be insects.

It may not like the soil it's in. You might also be overwatering. I have a little cuphea that keeps coming back year after year and it's mostly neglected.

Ahhhh thanks, guys. I just assumed it was stressing from transplant. It never has perked up.
I've tried feeding it, and I swear it has almost too much drainage where it is. Wondering if even watering... it's definitely not staying on the plant. I had one in Benbrook that had morning sun and afternoon shade. I've even tried to position this one in about the same type location. I swear it's sooooo bloody hot and dry here. We have so much sand, it's almost like living in the freakin desert. Sometimes I just assume stuff WONT survive the sun and heat, I dare plant things in some locations. Others that are even supposed to GROW in full sun, I watch wilt, burn and then die. It's sooooo sad.

I'll try to pot this one up, I guess or just move it to another location where I can neglect it and see what happens.

If you have a lot of sand, maybe try amending the soil it is planted in.

If it makes you feel better, I have a new cuphea that also looks just awful. I don't know why. I've grown it successfully for years and have never had a problem before. It likes the heat, and we've had a lot of cooler days than normal for May--that's all I can think of.

It might not be getting enough sun? My BF Cuphea gets all but late-day sunshine and thrives. I think it's too hot and too much sunshine, but it proves me wrong in that location year after year.

Some plants, besides the awful winds and weather, just don't always come back- there are more bugs, above and underground surviving off of less goodies this year too, check ur roots, see how they look if you dig around it
