I have 1 well rooted, actively growing hardy to zone 8 Brugmansia. Tiara is a double white brug. This one is just a tad over 2 feet tall from the soil line.
I'm looking for Asiatic Lilies. Hardy Amaryllis, Caladiums, Costus (Spiral) Gingers and will consider any hardy zone 7/8 bulbs as well as Alo/Colocasias.
If interested, please D-Mail me with Brugmansia in the Subject Line.
CLOSED: Have: Double White Brugmansia, Tiara
I don't know of an Amaryllis that ISN'T hardy in your area.
Well I don't know that much about them .. I've got a bed out front that I'd like have something constantly blooming in it from Spring til Fall and I'm thinking Amaryllis would be a good candidate for Spring .. Since winters are getting a lot colder than usual I'm thinking I need something that can tolerate zone 7 at least even though I'm zone 8.
I would suggest different Lilly plants, which bloom longer than Amaryllis. Also, Hyacinths make a nice plant and bloom a long time. Lirope blooms quite a long time and is a nice filler plant.
Funny that you mentioned that your winters are much colder than usual, I came to the same conclusion. I'm taking some iris with me to Cocoa Beach, FL for the winter to see if I can get them to bloom. Over the past fifteen years we have seen our winters get downright "CHILLY". I have seen St. Joseph lilies, they bloom quite spectacularly, and increase rapidly. Amaryllis like to be root bound, so do better in pots.
I'm open to anything that blooms in the spring, can take full sun and isn't Lirope. Hate that stuff .. couldn't get rid of it fast enough when I found it in the garden when I bought the house.
Those amaryllis are pretty.
