I'm planning some vacation time soon. I would like to know what your favorite Tx. state park is and why it's your favorite.
Tx. State Parks
Garner State Park because it's right on the river! Great for tubing and wading. I also like Pedernales State Park, on the Pedernales River (pronounced "perdnalice" LOL). Cedar Hill State Park is nice and I've known lots of folks that have been there, but I've not been personally. The park in Kerrville is also nice, but it's usually crowded.
Big Bend Ranch. It's stunningly beautiful. It's quiet and has a wide variety of scenery, geology, geography. It has painted canyons similar to those in Utah and there are a variety of activities in the area.
Oooh, yes. Big Bend Ranch is really nice. Of the ones I've been to, I also like Martin Dies Jr., because it's got a beautiful swamp area
that's really pretty in the spring.

How fun, Catz!
We've been to so many state parks, I can't remember all the names. Plus, camping was our pre-farm days and we haven't been in a while. Our program was to drive to area of the state we wanted to see then stay a night at a park and go to another park the next night. Or if one park was especially beautiful, we would stay a few nights longer.
When we had some extras cash, we would fly into a state we had never been to before. Using the cheapest air fare to decide where we would go and rent a car. Even if the state didn't sound exciting..we would go (those were the rules.lol) We always had a blast, everyday an adventure. We saw lots of things that wouldn't find in a guide book.
Have fun!
I like Inks Lake SP (near Marble Falls). Good hiking trails and beautiful country.
