The Easy-to - Propagate African Marigold

Pasig City, Philippines

I was given a pot of these yellow flowering plants and was told that they are easy to propagate.

When the flowers dried up, they were just literally thrown sporadically on an empty lot ...
and, true enough, they grew well and blossomed.

The only downside is..... they don't smell good :(

This is how much a single plant of African Marigold can multiply....and there are more scattered down the slope!

Marigolds are famous for their not so good smell. lol. I love marigolds. In fact I need to get my seeds scattered outside.

Isn't this the kind of Marigolds that repels (supposedly) flies? What's your experience, balaitalisai?

Hi Alileo!

I have not really observed their anti-fly property coz I am only there during week-ends.....but would plant them all over my place if they indeed repel flies...especially white flies!

Thanks for that tip.:)
