Anyone grow any Encholirium's?
If so can anyone tell me if

all Encholirium's die after they flower or if only Encholirium horridum

need a male and female plant to make good seed

will they self pollinate or do I need two plants

thanks for any info.

Been tempted to grow horridum many times but people are very proud of them at shows. Not sure about whether it's monocarpic or not (no pups). I've heard both yes and no. Although they look like Hechtias, I think they are "perfect" i.e. not male or female plants.

Hmmmmmm. I haven't ever tried any of these. I have my first dykia that I am raising and found out they want some sun.

Encholirium horridum (in the photo) does not pup so the only way to get more is from seed. The plant is said to make good seed with out haveing to have two of them. You are correct digital_dave it has perfect flowers. I have not had one flower as yet.

Turtle, I see you have 1 item in your want list....a dyckia. It will be a while before mine multiplies.
