Bromeliads Display

Show me your bromeliads!

This is how I am displaying my Broms this year. I left them in their original pots and placed them inside a basket. They seem to just love it. Watering is much easier too.

Some of them may be NOIDS but I love them just as much as those with names.

This (mauve) mom is beautiful. The pups have some green in them, but will probably get full color when they get bigger.

I think it is Neo. monet. (I am not sure how to rotate it for everyone to enjoy.)

Here are my T's. Lost many over winter. The piece of wood (next to the branch) has baby tillandsias on it.

I don't have many Broms to show you a picture of.

I like to piece of wood you have choosen for the tiny T's.
I have a few of T's, but haven't figured out how to display them yet. They are just sitting on the kitchen window sill.

Went to the Baton Rouge Bromeliad Society's show and sale yesterday. Couldn't pass theses up. Gave these 2 to the daughter which was very hard to do. I'll get the first pups.
The one on the right is Neo purple star. The one on the left is aechmea orlandiana Rainbow.

Viresea Red Chestnut for meeeeee. Found out I was not watering my other virsea correctly. I was told to water the soil only on virseas. On the Neos and aechmeas I keep water in the resevior. Hope I can save my virsea Margaurite.

If you have access to rainwater by all means keep water in all the cups. Hard water (i.e. contining dissolved solids like calcium carbonate) will evaporate leaving the minerals behind. Collecting rainwater is pretty easy using gutter collection kits and 55 gallon drums.

When I don't have rain water avilable, I do use tap water which I draw and use 24-48 hours later.
