:) Does the calyx always stay on while the seedpod is small? I have several thingies that look like baby seedpods, but the calyx fell off right away. Are these going to maybe be seedpods?
seedpod question #1002
Maybe. was gonna mention on another post about this, the calyx on mine always yellow out, just a matter of it the stem will, if we are talking about the same thing. i need photo help!!! does it take over 5 minutes to load a pic now?
it shouldn't take that long! when's the last time you rebooted? If I use my graphics program a lot, I have to reboot much more often. Or if it doesn't do it right away, click stop and retry. Sometimes it's here.
Tig,
The Calyx does not always stay on when a seedpod is going to form, but I have noticed that the seedpod seems to develop faster...of course the calxy seems to promote retention of water and hence rot of some Brugmansia seedpods...at least on some hybrids I have. One can often note a thin seperation or dark line where the pedicle from the flower connects into the tree-this line growing darker signifies that the seedpod is not generally going to continue developing if it has indeed started at all and denotes the fact that it will soon fall off in most cases.
how did you know that one of my bigger ones started doing that? I just noticed it myself this morning:(
