Window coverings?

Pelzer, SC(Zone 7b)

Yeah, okay, maybe over the top, but I mean well.

My chicken houses have big windows. During the winter, they're covered with plastic to keep them warmer, but in summer, they need the breeze and air circulation. Still, we do get some pretty wild storms, and I'd like to be able to stop the wind from blowing the rain in. I'm thinking a drop "shade" type arrangement. I have to be able to do it quickly, in case I miss the weather warnings.

Thoughts?

Oh. I've included three possible patterns. I think the last is probably a keeper....

Are you sure the shades aren't meant to hide the dancing going on in the coop? LOL Very pretty material, your gals will feel so special!

The windows in my coop only go up half way so I use cheap roller blinds, bought them at Lowes. Keeps the heat out but the sun and breeze come through the bottom half of the window. On the outside of the window (outside the coop) the windows are covered with shade cloth so critters can get in through the screens.

No, no, the Dancing is in the woods...

I tired the rollers, but they blew around so much they ripped. I figure I can put grommets in the material and be able to tie them down.

It's just a plan, so far, there's a new coop that needs building first, and money's tight, of course:)
