I know I committed an organic sin when I used Ironite on my vegetables last week since I’m trying to be all organic this year. My dilemma was that all of my vegetables had extremely yellow leaves and for the most part were on their way to a slow death. So I did the only thing I could think of and that was to spread Ironite in all of my beds and wait. Sure enough, after the rains we had in the past few days, everything is now the perfect shade of green and look healthy and happy and many now have blossoms. Even my tomato plants with serious early blight, if it was that, is gone. I’m calling it my miracle of 2011. I don’t understand why or how it worked, I just know that it did. Now I will definietIy have a soil test done to see what other problems my soil might have. I'm interested in hearing if other gardeners have used Ironite and if they had similar results.
Do you believe in miracles?
Here's some info on ironite:

I'm wondering if the plants "greened-up" after rain because of nitrogen in the air. I've always noticed plants are greener after a deluge, especially if it involved lightning.

Thanks very much for the link to that newspaper story which just happened to be in our local paper, The Dallas Morning News. I found it to be a fair presentation of the facts from both the pro and con view. After reading the story and a couple of other articles on Ironite, I am comfortable that my one and only time use of the product does not pose a health concern for me or my family. It is good to know all of the facts and everyone either using Ironite or thinking of using it should know about the lead and arsenic content, albeit small amounts, so that they can make an informed decision whether or not they still want to use it.
As far as an alternative theory for the greening up of my vegetables, I still believe in miracles.
