Does anyone know if chickens will eat termites? or a safe way to spray them that won't harm my animals?

Chickens love termites!
Thats what i thought but everyone up here says they won't touch them.... I was tempted to just toss in a few hens & a roo to take care of them. They are nasty little buggars... they bite & i didn't' know that! So i sure don't want to touch them again.
