I was ready to pitch this miserable plant last fall, because all it did all summer long when it DID get buds was drop them. Grrrr.............but I had room, and some benevolent part of me didn't want to see it croak (especially since I paid $$ for it..........) Well, it has done its penance, I guess.............If I have to suffer with it all summer long for nothing and get this in return when it is in the g'house, I can deal with that............I think. :>)
Oh, that was a crappy pic.........here is a better one. Don't know what happened to that photo.............LOL At least I'm HOPING it is a better one............if it's the same, sorry.
Fooey............it didn't correct itself...........it shows the whole bloom in my photo file.

I have Wretched Mess too. Beautiful flowers. They prefer cooler temps for blooming I believe.
