Yes, Sheila, I would love to have an RU out here at my place. Maybe we could pull some attendance from a little farther south or west. We have a pavilion about the same size as the Randol Mill one, or maybe just a tad bigger. I have six long white tables, a picnic table and three or four card tables, so we might have to rustle up some more tables. We have plenty of parking, and a few electric outlets on the pavilion, so crock pots and coffee makers are welcome. There's plenty of room to display our plants, and around fifty chairs. An added draw might be that it's free and we have BATHROOMS. ;-) June 4th is the first weekend I have available (and I'll have to cheeck with Hubby to be sure of that).
Below is a pic of the pavilion. I promise I'll move the mowers, stuff, etc. (if I must--lol).
Please know that my feelings will not be hurt if you decide not to take me up on this offer. I certainly understand that it won't be convenient for everyone. Whatever you decide is so OK with me. I would like to hear everyone's viewpoint on this. Would it be too soon, too hot, too far, good timing, closer to some? Let me know your thoughts.
I had such a good time Sunday with you guys, even though I thought I would freeze my buns off, and I'm hoping to get all my gift plants in the ground today or Thursday.
Another north central Texas RU
Well, I think it is a great idea, but I can't make it June 4 or 11, I have commitments the first 2 Saturdays of each month, I can do the last 2 Saturdays, but I can make it any Sunday.
Let us see what people think.
Josephine.
Do we need another one so soon? It looks like a great place to have it but I would not have that many things ready to trade so quickly. Cam
I understand why you wouldn't want to come all the way from Houston steadycam, but Sybil is trying to get her foot in the door a bit before hot weather starts up. Our bad weather may have kept a few from coming that may consider this one.
It may not be a big one, but I drove all the way to San Marcos, and spent the night in a hotel, with just a few plants last year. LOL! I feel blessed to have met so many people on DG.
As for the date, Saturdays are usually busy with kiddos games and other events. That is why we seem to tag Sunday afternoons.
Oh...Sybil..... You need to get a different name when you start the actual RU thread so not to confuse those people that recognize Arlington one as "north central".

I'd be game for another RU. I'm not sure what I'll have in the way of plants, but I'm sure I can come up with a few and a few other goodies. Keep us posted on a date (I can't really do the end of June, but otherwise I'm flexible).
Actually, I meant Sunday the 5th of June. Duh.
So, Sylvia, what would we call this one?
Well I don't know what Sylvia would call it...LOL.... but I think maybe just Burleson TX RU or Johnson County RU. The reason I said change it is we have confusion now over E TX and N Central TX, because we have them so close together.
Count me in !!!!
Glenna
Me too!!!!!!!!
Oh pooh, SHEILA, why do I do that?!! So sorry.
Thanks for chiming in everyone. I'll get back to you on a for sure date. I couldn't talk to my husband about it today, but I feel like the 5th will be fine.
Sybil....np. If it makes you feel better, I want to call you Shirley all the time!! LOL!
Like the two old friends...one calls the other and says I must be loosing it, don't laugh, but I have to ask ....what is your name?.......... Long pause.... and the friend says how soon do you need to know? LOL!
But in all fairness we just met last year.
It really should be ASAP, before the heat sets in. I don't think I have anything to trade but I do think some that stayed home because of the weather might attend.

That's the story of my life right now!!!
This looks like a great place to have a RU, and it is forty miles closer to me.
Just got out of hospital and had mt geart set on
RU so if this happens and you will have me, I
am in !!!
WOOHOO !!!!
I could maybe do a Sunday, but definitely not a Saturday. Not sure if I'd have any plants to trade, though.
Stephanie...you can come dig extras from my house! LOL!
Ha! That might not be a bad idea! LOL
Sybil, I live near you if you need help getting things ready I'll be more than happy to help. JLMK
Hello All! So sorry I’m just now getting back about the RU, but had to be sure the scheduling would work. We’re having a home school graduation out here the 28th . Home school high school graduations are a BIG, HARRY DEAL, and we’ll have around 50 attendees. I heard that some of our Houston family was staying over that next week, so had to check it out.
Bottom line: Sunday, June 5th is a good date for me, and I’m rarin’ to go!
Problem: I just recently thought about all the computer work that Sheila and Josephine do for the RU. I cannot commit to do that. I go for days without even turning my computer on, and besides, I’m not very savvy about making links, etc. I would worry myself sick if I had to do that part. So, if anyone would like to take that on, please speak up.
Another need: I have four long (6’) tables (thought I had more, but only four), one picnic table and three card tables. We will need to use at least some of those for food/eating. Does anyone know where we could get more tables? I have plenty of chairs.
If these needs are met, I think we can have a fantastic time of food, fun, fellowship and flora ; ) at our Burleson spring/summer RU!
Please let me know your thoughts, especially about anything I may have left out, and thanks to all who have already responded.
Syb
Catzgalore, I would love your help! Should I have posted the above on the Texas Gardening forum?

Sybil, Josephine and I spoke this afternoon, and we will share the responsibility of posting threads. Although you will need to monitor them from time to time because someone may have questions we can't answer.
I will do the trading thread and keep up with linking the lists people post. Josephine has offered to do the attendence and food thread. Before we get started we do need you to come up with a definative name for the RU. Maybe since Catzgalore offered, the two of you can get together on that along with time and who can do name tags at a sign in table, help with where to park, unload & set-up plants, and all that stuff.
Let us know what you decide and when you want us to get started.
Sheila
Sounds like a winner to me. Thanks ever so much. s
I have two folding utility tables. I think they are 6 feet long. They've been used for everything from layering quilts to painting, so they aren't shiny new and would need something over the top. Would probably have to bring them the day before in one of our pickup trucks because they won't fit in my Honda SUV. Cargo space is the only thing I miss about the old gas-guzzling SUV I had before! I'm probably no more than 10 miles from you.
Oh man, that would be great. I'll get address and directions to you soon.
Sybil, you need to have a name for the swap, and all the other info, time is running really short, just three weeks left.
Josephine.
Don't forget to have me post it in the RU at a Glance Forum...and one place to borrow tables and chairs is your church....
Shelia...are you trying to catch up with me on the number of DG'ers we have met? Keep trying...I'm up to about 261 and plan to have a "Roadrunners Roadside RU when I go through GA on June 4th....catch us on I-20 somewhere!! LOL Jo
The Roadside RU in Texas Jo....or in GA? And no...you will hold that title long after you are gone. LOL! I really don't know how many I have met...loose count...old brain.
That's what I use my Excel program for....LOL My little RRRRup will be in GA.
Well if you are coming through TX on I-30 then you should at least stop in Tarrant County for coffee. LOL!
LOL I*'m flying (Southwest..not my broom....too many storms in the East) to Nashville and DS will pick me up and drive me to other points East. Thanks for the invitation though. Jo
Have a safe trip then Jo.
Ok guys we are almost ready to post for the NEW RU!!! At least the name and date has been decided. It will be the Burleson South RU!! Watch for the threads soon.
The Burleson South RU is a go!!
Ok we are putting the cart before the horse so to speak; but we need to get the trade links up and running soon....
Here is that thread. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1181003/

Come on let us have fun!!!
I have nothing to trade ladies.
That's o.k. come and have fun.
We need to go and check out the "free" facility that Sybram is offering and enjoy a meal. But you know you will go home with something from others!
