What is this bird? At first I thought cowbird but awfully big and bill seems wrong. Then I thought juvi Robin but breast is dark and uniform. Nothing seems to be feeding it. I've seen it in the yard twice today. Once it was bathing and the other time it was sitting in the tree with the doves.

Here is the back of it. Some of the feathers appear blue. (Dove head in the foreground.)
Juvenile Starling. Surprisingly early! Around here they always fledge on 20 May.

Yep, their nesting seems to be triggered by daylength, not weather or anything. It only ever varies by a day or two at most, amazingly constant.
